Allena Rae (Urich) Cunningham, 84, of Monongah, passed away June 5, 2025.

Allena was born on December 14, 1940 in Elkins, WV to the late Pete and Anna Urich.

She is also preceded in death by her husband, Donald G. Cunningham, Sr.; her siblings, Mary Koldres and her husband Lou, Agnes Garcia and her husband Andy, Helena Urich, Joseph Urich, and Andy Urich and his wife Doris; her step father-in-law, William King; brother-in-law, Gerald Cunningham of Texas; and sister-in-law, Brenda Messenger of Star City.

She is survived by her son, Donald Gene Cunningham, Jr., and his fiancée Judy Bowen of Fairmont; and her daughters, Andrea Huffman and her husband Tim of Charleston, WV, and Shelly Daniels and her husband Edward of Morgantown. She has four grandchildren, Donavon Cunningham and his wife Lindsay of Fairmont, Shellena Ferrell and fiancée Rob Saunders of Fairmont, Ronnie Drulls, Jr. of Charleston, and Austin Daniels of Morgantown; and six great grandchildren, Jarrod Poster, Autumn Ferrell, Seth Saunders, and Piper, Beckett, and Archer Cunningham. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Virgil Messenger; and several nieces and nephews.

Allena graduated from Monongah High School in 1959. She retired from Fruitful Endeavors and Giant Eagle in Fairmont. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, cake decorating, gardening, watching classic movies, and PC gaming. She often spent time talking to her best friend from Four States, Connie Straight, where she originally resided for a majority of her life.

The family would like to give special thanks to all of her caring neighbors who made her feel safe and always gave a helping hand.

The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Avenue in Fairmont, on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The service will be at the funeral home on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Bill Preston officiating.
