Obituary

Andy R. Haught, 93, of Fairmont, passed away Sunday, August 24, 2025 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born in Fairview on May 6, 1932, a son of the late Arzie and Grace Haught.

Andy is survived by his wife for 39 years, Antoinette DeCarlo Carpenter Haught; children, Mark Haught and his late wife Cindy of Las Vegas, NV, Andy Lee Haught and Lisa of Green River, WY, and Joni and Jim Vugrinec of Rathdrum ID; step children, Louetta Harris and Edwin of Rivesville, Evert Carpenter and Linda of Morgantown, Nicolena Carpenter of Charleston, SC, Joseph Carpenter and Sherry of Rivesville, and Chris Carpenter and Milinda of Morgantown; several loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Andy is a veteran of the United States Air Force and was stationed in Japan during the Korean War. He was employed in gas wells in Cleveland, OH and was a coal miner for Peabody/EACC and a maintenance man at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church.

Andy was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, listening to country music, repairing and tinkering in his man cave shed, watching Westerns, and sitting on the porch watching wildlife. He especially enjoyed spending time teasing and playing with the grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Andy and Antoinette had a great love of traveling. They coordinated many bus tours throughout the years. He enjoyed Broadway Plays, restaurants, casinos, and sight-seeing. They visited every state in the USA. They traveled abroad to many countries around the world including Mexico, France, Germany, Luxemburg, Canada, Bahamas, Switzerland, Italy, Monaco, Greece, Israel, Amsterdam, England, Austria, and more.

The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Avenue in Fairmont, on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Knights of Columbus will conduct honors at 7:00 p.m. Vigil rites will be held at 7:30 p.m. Catholic Funeral Liturgy will be held at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Joseph Konikattil as Celebrant.
