Anna Marie
Hayes
Jun 25, 1938 — Apr 27, 2026
With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of our beloved Anna Marie Hayes, 87, who went to be with the Lord on April 27, 2026, in Pleasant Valley, West Virginia. She was born on June 25, 1938, in Mt. Pleasant, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late James H. Craig and Marie Nowasky Craig.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Harold Waide Hayes, and her siblings, James A. Craig, Eva Ruth, and Margaret A. “Peggy” Colon.
She leaves behind a legacy of love through her three daughters: Brenda Smith and husband Kevin Smith of Philippi, Cheryl Vincent of Fairmont, and Denise Hayes of Fairmont. She is also survived by her dear niece, Virginia “Sissy” Colon, and nephew, Antonio J. Colon. Her grandchildren, Christopher Vincent and wife Laura, Joseph Vincent, and Kristyn M. Hayes, were the light of her life. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Jadyn Hayes-Wagner, Camdyn Collins, and Maëlynn Collins, who brought her so much joy.
A devoted mother and grandmother, Anna’s life was a beautiful reflection of her deep love for Jesus. She was a faithful member of Kingmont Community Church, where her church family meant so much to her. Her life stood as a testimony of God’s love—gentle, faithful, and full of grace.
She dedicated over 25 years of service as a home health aide with Family Service, compassionately caring for others and always putting their needs before her own. She was also a proud member of the Kingmont Community Building Auxiliary.
Anna had a special way of making people feel loved. You could always find her with a smile on her face, trying to brighten someone’s day. She found joy in the simple, meaningful moments—especially baking something sweet not only at her grandchildren’s request, but also for her children and her beloved husband, because everyone loved her homemade treats. Those small acts of love became some of the most treasured memories her family will carry forever.
She was an avid Mountaineer fan who enjoyed watching ball games, and she loved spending time with her family more than anything.
Her family was her greatest treasure, and she loved them fiercely and faithfully. The memories she created, the prayers she prayed, and the love she gave will live on in each of us forever.
Though our hearts are broken, we find peace knowing she is now resting in the presence of the Lord she loved so dearly.
“Well done, good and faithful servant…enter into the joy of your Lord.” — Matthew 25:23 I’ll fly away, oh glory ♥
