Arthur Leon Cross, 94, of Fairmont passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2022. He was born in Dakota on February 2, 1927, a son of the late Wesley Cross and Fanny Jane Wise Cross.

Arthur was a proud member of the United States Navy. He was a coal miner and later a Federal Mine Inspector. He enjoyed playing golf and belonged to Green Hills Country Club.

Arthur is survived by his daughters, Penny Shaffer and her husband Dale of Ohio, Linda Sloan and her husband Ray of Fairmont, and Ginny Hart and her husband Roger of Hurricane; a daughter-in-law, Marcia Cross of Fairmont; grandchildren, Tom Sloan (Jenny), Mike Sloan (Karla), Shawn Cross (Shelby), Monica Cross (Michael Kuhn), Lora Lewis (Scott), Deborah Deweese (Steve), and Robin McGrew (Bruce); and many great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Arthur was preceded in death by his wife Dolly Roma Cross; a son, Albert Cross; and siblings, Alberta, "Tiny," and Herbie.

The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Avenue in Fairmont, on Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Friday, January 28, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. The funeral will be at the funeral home on Friday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Larry Buckland officiating.
