Barbara Ellen Bunner Stevens, 85, of Fairmont went to be with the Lord on January 9, 2021 at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport.
She was born on March 18, 1935, a daughter of the late Ira T. and Clara I. Hayhurst Bunner, owners of Bunner's Dairy.
She is survived by her son, Dorsey (Skip) Stevens Jr. and wife Mary of Virginia, daughter Brenda Stevens Starcher and husband Brad of Fairmont; 5 grandchildren, Brooke Starcher Rhodes and husband Cody, Brandon Starcher and wife Brittany, Shannon Constable Vasconcellos, Kara Constable and Nathan Stevens and wife Kellsie; 5 great grandchildren, Adrien Constable-Knight, Ian Vasconcellos, Scarlett and Carson Rhodes, and Kenshin Stevens. She is also survived by her sister, Joyce Bowers of Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dorsey A. Stevens of 51 years; daughter, Becky Sue Stevens Constable; sisters, Nancy Bunner and Mary Huffman; brother, William Bunner and wife Betty Bunner, and Tom Bowers, husband of Joyce Bowers.
She attended Fairmont schools and graduated from Grafton High School. She was also a graduate of the Realtors Institute in Parkersburg, WV. She served as a director of the Chamber of Commerce, president of East Side Businessmen Assoc, member of South Fairmont Rotary Club, South Fairmont Kiwanis Club, Quota Club, Leadership Marion, and Action Marion. She served as director of the WV Assoc of Realtors for 12 years and was voted Realtor of the Year for the State of West Virginia. She was also president of the Fairmont Board of Realtors and Realtor of the Year.
Private services will be held due to COVID-19 precautions. She will be laid to rest at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Domico Funeral Home is assisting with these arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Fairmont First Church of the Nazarene, 1604 Morgantown Ave, Fairmont, WV 26554.
