Barbara Ellen McCoy, 89, of Fairmont, passed away Monday, August 26, 2019. She was born in Fairmont on May 2, 1930, daughter of the late Harry Nicholson and Luverna Gump Nicholson.

Barbara was a cook for Marion County Schools for 32 years, working mostly at Barrackville High School. She enjoyed cooking and taking care of everyone around her. She also enjoyed fishing, boating, and square dancing.

Barbara is survived by her children, Letha Mason and her husband Ben of Washington, WV, and David McCoy and his wife Kathy of Fairmont, WV; grandchildren, Justin McCoy and his companion Taylor Ledsome, and Mathew Mason and his wife Heather; great grandchildren, Madilynn McCoy, Phoenix McCoy, Hunter Mason, Erick Mason, and Kaylee Mason; a sister, Betty Wilson of Barrackville; and a niece, Linda Pratt of Barrackville.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, David McCoy; a sister, Darline Nicholson; a nephew, Larry Gibson and his wife Jill Bartlett; and a great niece, Ashley Anderson.

The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Avenue in Fairmont, on Thursday, August 29, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday, August 30, 2019 from Noon until 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will be on Friday, August 30, 2019 at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Paul Mitchell officiating.
