Obituary

Barbara Ann San Antonio, 74, of Fairmont, passed away after many years of ill health on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Mon General Hospital. She was born in Fairmont and raised in New York City, the daughter of the late Anthony F. Martello Sr. and Candida "Connie" (Bertelli) Martello.

She was a devoted mother, wife, sister, daughter and friend. Barbara was a lifelong member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She had been active in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life, American Heart Association and the Fairmont Bowling League. Her many interests included; cooking, nature, playing cards and going to casinos. She especially enjoyed spending time with her son, family and friends.

Barbara is survived by her husband Thomas and son Thomas Jr., three brothers, David Martello and his wife Joann of New York, Anthony "Tony" Martello of Fairmont and Joe Martello of North Carolina; a special sister-in-law, Jane Martello of Fairmont; and her best friend who was like her sister, Irene Guarasci, her nieces and nephews and spouses, Denise and Curtis Burton, Joseph and Jennifer Martello, Patrick and Marisa Martello, Michelle Martello, Joseph "J.J. "Martello, Jr. and eleven great nieces and nephews, Brooklyn, Natalia, Danielle and Troy Burton, Logan, Lucas, Dylan, Alexis, William and Joseph Martello. Also surviving are two uncles and their wives, David and Dottie Bertelli of Norton and Frank and Lillian Bertelli of Norton; two aunts, Becky and Joe Manolidis of Norton, Gloria Bertelli; two sisters-in-laws, Mary Bertelli of Wheeling and Mary Bertelli of Elkins and cousins Joe Merendino, Sr., Carmela Merendino and Patricia Greco. And special friend who she considered a son, James Phillips.

Mrs. San Antonio's family would like to thank Dr. Jaworski and Dr. Blatt for their dedication and loving care, Sister Stella for all her prayers, calls and love and all of her family and friends for their support and love over the years.

In keeping with Barbara's wishes, she will be cremated and there will be no visitation services at the funeral home. The family will receive friends at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 406 Alta Vista Avenue, Fairmont, WV, on Saturday, July 31, 2021 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. The Catholic Funeral Liturgy will be at the church on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. with Father Jojan Joseph as Celebrant. Committal Services and entombment will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception.
