Barbara Ann Skirtish Bland, age 81, of Timberlake, NC formerly Fairmont, WV passed away peacefully on Thursday February 7, 2019 at Hock Family Pavilion Duke Homecare and Hospice in Durham, NC.  She was born in Farmington, WV on January 9, 1938.  She was proceeded in death by her mother and father, Marco and Anna Skirtish, twin sister Joann Mallamo, and sisters Cecelia Slaughter and Joyce Skirtish.

Barbara was employed by Westinghouse and Weber's Florist before retiring to homemaking and running an in home daycare.  She was active in St. Peter's Women's guild, Fairmont Catholic Bowling League, a Girl Scout leader and enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time with her grandchildren.

Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  She is survived by her husband of 56 years Louis Merle Bland and daughters Barbara Harris and husband Erik and grandson Matthew of Harpers Ferry, WV, Carla Duffell and husband Bill and grandchildren Bryan and Courtney of Brownsburg, IN and Carol Walters of Henderson, NC and granddaughters Danielle Whitbey of Killeen, TX and Ashley Walters also of Henderson, NC. and great grandchildren RJ and Coraline Whitbey.

The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Avenue in Farimont, WV on Monday, February 11, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.  The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Reverend Larry Buckland presiding.  Interment will follow at Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial service will be held in North Carolina at a later date.
