It is with deep sadness that the family of Betty Jean Sapp Jacquez of Fairmont announces her passing on Friday, December 1, 2023 at the age of 97. She was born December 20, 1925 in Fairmont, WV, daughter of the late Cecil and Emma Sapp. She is survived by her son Michael Jacquez and wife Janet (Domico) of Fairmont. Three grandchildren, Amy (Jacquez) Blake and husband David, Michael Jacquez and wife Ryan, Marcus Jacquez and fiancé Trisha; seven great grandchildren, Samuel Blake, Lucia, Cruz, and Eva Jacquez, Ryker Jacquez, Ava and Callie Sheppard.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband, Marcus Jacquez Jr.; her sisters, Wanda Young, Francis Hawkins and brother Harold Sapp.

Betty was a member of Life United Methodist Church in Fairmont and the Eastern Stars and Pioneers. She enjoyed baking and sewing, and was a longtime employee and retired from C&P Telephone Company. She is lovingly remembered for her contagious laugh, gentle nature and her ability to turn any stranger into a friend.

The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Avenue in Fairmont, on Monday, December 4, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the West Virginia National Cemetery in Grafton, West Virginia.
