Betty Lou Jett, 84, of Odells Knob Worthington went to be with the lord on February 25, 2025. She was born to the late Paul and Louise Witt on November 23, 1940, in Owings, West Virginia.
Betty grew up in Philippi WV and graduated from Philippi High School in 1958 where she was in the band and played clarinet, trumpet, and the trombone. Later teaching herself to play the piano and guitar.
Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. She was preceded in death by her sister Nina (Clayton) Carter and brothers James (Marna) and Robert (Annice) Witt. She is survived by her husband of 64 years Charles Jett Jr. Children Julie Long, Terry (Renee) Jett, and Charles (Melissa) Jett lll. Grandchildren Michael (Tammy) Long, Marissa Long, Juliana Jett, Atticus, Emerson, and Isaac Jett. Great Grandchildren Kara, Kolten, Kylee Long, Zackery Grimm. Brother David (Threasia) Witt. They will forever remember her warmth, kindness, and unwavering support.
Throughout her life, Betty was known for a wide array of interests, she loved and cared for so many pets it was easy to see the joy animals gave her. showcasing a blend of creativity, practicality, and adventure. She enjoyed the calm and focus of cooking and baking, carefully crafting delicious dishes and baked goods, while also indulging in the hands-on satisfaction of sewing, painting, and crafting. She had a natural eye for detail, enjoying the process of creating something beautiful and functional.
Betty had a love of puzzles and games oftentimes revealing her sharp mind and problem-solving skills, whether it's the strategic thinking in games or the mental challenge of crosswords and murder mysteries. She would thrive on intellectual stimulation, especially when combined with a good story.
She also appreciated nature and outdoor activities, balancing creative and mental hobbies with physical pursuits like camping, fishing, and hunting. Her love of riding motorcycles with her husband suggested a sense of freedom and adventure, enjoying the open road.
Betty was a multi-faceted individual who enjoyed both the quiet solitude of hobbies like reading and crafting, as well as the thrill of outdoor activities and intellectual challenges. She approached life with enthusiasm and curiosity, always ready to explore new interests and passions.
A warm and cherished soul, Betty touched the lives of many with her compassionate nature and positive outlook. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Avenue Fairmont, WV, on Friday, March 7, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The service will be at the funeral home on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Jett Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.domicofh.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Betty's honor.
