Betty Louise Murray, 95, of Fairmont passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, October 11, 2025. She was born June 4, 1930 in Monongah, WV, the middle daughter of the late Sidney and Ellen Myers. A longtime resident of Fairmont, she graduated from East Fairmont High School in 1948, when she was honored as Miss East Fairmont. She was active in the community as a member of the congregation of Saint Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William Murray Jr.; her two sisters, Anna Mildred Donaldson (Bill) and Norma Hamilton (Leonard); five sisters-in-law, Janet Harding (Leo), Rita Kominowski (Bob), Mary Ellen Spehnjak (Carl), Verla Dupuis (Roger), and Phyllis Boehm (Jack); and two brothers-in-law, Alfred Murray (Nancy), and Philip Murray.
She is survived by her sons, Bill Murray (Gary McQuown) of Fairmont; Tom Murray (Linda; deceased) of Aurora, CO; and Beth Hirschmann (Karl) of Golden, CO; along with her two grandchildren, Anna Hirschmann and Erik Hirschmann, as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Avenue in Fairmont, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. pm Thursday, October 16, 2025 with vigil rites performed at 7:30 p.m. The Catholic Funeral Liturgy will be at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, October 17, 2025 at Saint Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church with Father Joseph Konikattil as celebrant. Interment will follow at West Virginia National Cemetery.
