Brad Allen
Slaman
Apr 5, 1957 — Jan 22, 2024
Brad Allen Slaman, 66, of Morgantown, WV passed away Monday, January 22nd unexpectedly at his home. Brad was born April 5th, 1957 in Fairmont, the son of the late Abraham and Della "Betsy" (Sembower) Slaman. He was a kind father, a devoted grandfather and a generous friend who laughed often and loved hard. Brad had a giant heart and was a continuous source of joy for our entire family.
Brad is survived by his two sons, Cole (Amanda) Slaman of Fairmont, WV and Seth (Kendra) Slaman of Greensboro, PA; sister Adella Slaman Jonas of Harmony, FL; grandchildren Sawyer Slaman, Rowen Slaman, Aspen Slaman, Kendall Slaman, Lane Slaman, and Kacie Slaman; nieces Brittany Jonas Augustin of Harmony, FL and Dominique Jonas of Stockton, CA.
Brad was preceeded in death by his parents Abraham and Della "Betsy" Slaman.
Brad was a graduate of Fairmont Senior High School. At a young age, he had a passion for Motorcross, winning numerous races as an amateur at Pyramid Valley and High Point Raceway in the late 70's and early 80's. Brad was a retired coal miner, member of UMWA Local 1058, and worked at Consolidation Coal Company's Humphrey No. 7 mine.
Brad was also an avid outdoorsman, sharing his love for hunting and fishing with his two sons. He enjoyed the majestic wilderness of the Monongahela National Forest, spending time camping and enjoying the solitude and beauty of this area.
The biggest joys in his life called him 'Pappy', and he was proud to have 6 grandchildren that he spoiled and greatly adored. His loving personality shown through when spending time with them and sharing in goofy laughs.
In honoring his wishes for cremation, his free spirit will forever live on in the backcountry chasing that elusive buck and in the trout stream enjoying the peaceful mountain air.
To honor his memory, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital - an organization Brad faithfully contributed to for many years.
