Brian Lee Munson, Sr., affectionately known to many as “Bear,” age 59, passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2026 in Morgantown, WV, surrounded by the love of his family. Brian was born on August 4, 1967, in Fairmont, WV, son of the late Virginia Mae and William D. Munson. He made his home with his loving partner, Della Pitman. Brian had a deep-rooted passion for the outdoors and machinery, all around jack of all trades. Above all else, Brian’s greatest pride and joy was his family.

He is survived by his loving children, Brian Munson, Jr. and his spouse Jessica Myers of Idamay, WV, and Greg Munson of Fairmont, WV. He was the deeply cherished grandfather of Isabella Munson. HE is survived by his loving siblings and their families, Helen Moore of Fairmont, Florance “Sue” Masters and her husband Robert Masters Sr. of Mannington, Howard Nichols and his wife Amy Nichols of Fairmont, Irene Hess and her husband Roy Hess of the Rock Lake Community, Jeffery Munson and his wife Rebecca Munson of Fairmont, Jay Bowman and his wife Tracey Bowman. He was a proud and fond uncle to numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews, as well as loyal friend to many throughout the community.

In addition to his parents, Brian was preceded in death by many dear relatives and his loyal companion and buddy, Max.
