Carl Vance Tate, Sr., passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2024 in Fairmont, WV. Carl was born on January 19, 1945 to the late Tomi Tate and Channie Tate Wiseman. Tate was preceded in death by his brother, Norman Tate; sister, Roslyn Orr; son Carl V. Simms, II; and grandson Devante' Shemar Waites.

He leaves to cherish his memory, and is survived by his sister, Cheryl Tate, of Fairmont, WV; his children, Racquiel Horton (Billy) of Fairmont, Jerome "Pedro" Tate of Fairmont, WV, Carl V. Waites, III, of Fairmont, WV, and LaKisha Elder (Charles) of Burlington, NC; niece Adelia Tate Williams (Garland); nephews Troy Orr of Pittsburgh, PA, and Kevin Orr of Charlotte, NC.

Carl also leaves to cherish his memory, a host of additional nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

The family will receive friends at Agape Life Ministries, 410 Morgantown Avenue, in Fairmont, on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. for a Memorial Service with Pastor Leo Riley officiating. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.domicofh.com.
