Obituary

Carol Ann Fletcher Parker Jones, 72 from Mannington WV, passed away Friday Oct. 3rd, 2025 at her home in Fairmont WV, surrounded by family.

She was born on November 15th, 1952.  Daughter of George Henry Fletcher and Anna Pauline Jolliffe Fletcher.  Carol graduated from Mannington High School in 1970.  She attended West Virginia Career College.  She worked 30+ years at Fairmont General Hospital and retired from the materials management/accounting department in 2010.

As a child, Carol loved riding bikes, going to the pool, movie theatre, and drive in with her best friend Marmie Daniel and her family.  As an adult she enjoyed yard sales, puzzles, board games(she always won), playing spades with online friends, crosswords, long drives, listening to records at home or music in the car.  She loved playing playstation games with her grandkids and Ninja warrior with Julz.  She never missed practices, games, boy scouts, or anything for her kids/grandkids and she always make sure to let everyone know how proud she was of them.  She loved hugs most of all and all her "kids" would line up to give them to her.  She was a "gma" figure to so many kids and they loved and respected her.

Carol was proceeded in death by her father, George Fletcher, mother, Pauline Fletcher, brother, George Fletcher Jr.(Buddy), brother in law, Robin Swiger, and granddaughter, Danika Parker.

Carol is survived by her husband, Kenneth Jones, brother Edward Fletcher, sister Diane Swiger, two daughters, Sherrie(William) McDaniel and Jennifer Parker(George Butler).  Six grandchildren, Holly Lindner, Elijah McDaniel, Malik Kinzer, Donaven Kinzer, Malachi Parker, and Julius Butler.  Three great grandchildren, Kylee Lindner, Benjamin Lindner, and Liam Lindner.  One niece, Sabrina Spellman.  One "adopted" daughter Susan Godfrey.

We invite family and friends to come celebrate Carol's life and memory at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Avenue in Fairmont, on Thursday Oct. 9th from 5-8pm and on Friday Oct. 10th from 10-11am with funeral services officiated by Reverend William McDaniel, beginning at 11am, followed by a graveside service at Mannington Memorial Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers the family is accepting monetary donations.
