Cedric "Pig" Eugene Black was born August 31, 1952 in Fairmont, WV, the son of the late James Black and Mary (Goldman) Black.
Cedric attended Grant Town Grade School and graduated from Fairview High School (Class of 1971).He attended Beckley Junior College and West Virginia University for Athletic Training. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, playing pool, chess, and ping pong as well as watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Pirates, New York Knicks and West Virginia University Mountaineers.
Cedric is survived by his son Cedric N. Black. In addition to his son, he leaves to cherish his memories: 1 loving and dedicated sister Cynthia Black of Grant Town, WV; 1 sister in law Edna Black of Charleston, SC; devoted niece LaShawna (Charles) Norman of Haymarket ,VA; a loving great niece Mackenzie Norman of Haymarket,VA and a host of nieces and nephews. A host of devoted friends to include: Mary Ellen Jones, Randy Tennant, Lloyd Moore, Mark Shuck, Eddy Ridgeway, Kenny Nestor and his pool crew (John,Terry, and Jim). His furry friend Homey
In addition to his parents, Cedric is preceded in death by his fiancée Deborah Goldson, his maternal and paternal grandparents, 5 brothers (James Ronald, Charles, Kennethharry, Gerald, and Leslie Black); 2 sisters(Geneva Maddox and Patricia Black);1 brother-in-law (Otis Maddox); and 1 nephew Stephen Black.
Friends and family may visit from 10am until 11:45am Saturday February 11 at Mount Beulah Missionary Baptist Church Main Street in Grant Town, WV. The funeral will be held on Saturday February 11 at 12pm at the Mount Beulah Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Wesley Q. Dobbs officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Fairmont, WV. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.domicofh.com .
