Charles "Chuck"
H. Moffatt
Oct 17, 1968 — Mar 30, 2026
Charles H. "Chuck" Moffatt, 57, of Fairmont, West Virginia, formerly of Wintersville, Ohio, passed away on March 30, 2026. He was born on October 17, 1968, to Robert Moffatt Sr. and Bonna K. Moffatt.
Chuck was a hardworking and dedicated man who spent many years in the coal industry before answering a calling to help others by entering the medical field. He served his community with compassion and care through his work at Ruby Memorial Hospital and later with Marion County EMS, where he made a lasting impact on countless lives.
Chuck was preceded in death by his father, Robert Moffatt Sr.
Family was at the center of Chuck's life. He is survived by his loving wife, Karen (Thompson) Moffatt; his children, Zachery Moffatt and fiancée Aubree Paige Erb, Brittni Heston and Kenny Williams, and Dani Moffatt and Ryan Elkins; and his cherished grandchildren, Jaxon and KC. He is also survived by his mother, Bonna K. Moffatt; his brothers, Robert Moffatt Jr. (Gina) of Talladega, Alabama, Donald Moffatt (Michele) of Grove City, Ohio, and Daniel Moffatt (Aleta) of Toronto, Ohio; and a special cousin, Thomas McNeil of Wintersville, Ohio.
Chuck gave back to his community in many ways, including serving as a Cubmaster (Pack 7) and Scout leader in the Mountaineer Area Council, where he mentored and influenced many young lives. In his later years, he found joy in fishing, hunting, woodworking, and, most of all, spending time with his grandchildren.
He was a former member of Eagles Lodge 2801 in Buckeye Lake, Ohio, and Acacia Lodge 157 in Fairmont, West Virginia.
Chuck will be remembered for his strength, his generosity, and the love he had for his family and community. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
