Obituary

Cynthia "Cindy" Ann Domico Chism, 73, of Monongah, WV passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at Pittsburgh Veteran's Hospital after a brief illness.  She was born August 07, 1952 to the late Louie and Mary Domico of Monongah, WV.

Cindy proudly served in the U.S. Army and especially enjoyed her time served in Germany.  She loved working at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center in Clarksburg, WV, assisting fellow veterans.  A long time member of the Holy Spirit Catholic church, she was always listening to music (especially the oldies).  A friend to all, she had several cherished friends since high school.  Her greatest passion was her family.  Her face lit up when you mentioned them, especially her three Great-Granddaughters.

Cindy is survived by her two daughters, Theresa Chism (Sean) of Worthington, WV and Loucinda Moore of Navarre, FL.  Four grandchildren, Elizabeth Ridgley (Ryan), Brandon Chism, Alex Moore (fiancée Alexia Escobar) and Luke Chism (Aspyn).  Three cherished great-granddaughters, Aubriella, Eleanor & Rhiannon Ridgley.  Loving brother Gary Domico, brother Tim Domico and nephew John Matthew Domico.  Also numerous cousins, extended family and friends that have become family.

In addition to her parents, she is proceeded in death by her brothers Lew Domico Jr., John Michael Domico and precious niece Amber Nicole Domico.

The family will receive friends/family at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Ave. Fairmont, WV on Sunday from 5 pm – 7 pm, Monday 1 pm – 7 pm with a Vigil service being held at the funeral home at 6:30 p.m.  A mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at 10 am at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Monongah, WV with Father Romeo Bacalso as celebrant and a dinner to follow.

The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the caregivers and staff of the Clarksburg and Pittsburgh VA Hospitals.  We especially want to thank the staff of 3A-ICU, 4 West and Fisher House of the Pittsburgh VA.  The compassion and care you showed our mom and family during this difficult time was outstanding.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Fisher House.

Because of their generosity and kindness, we were able to stay there and not worry about lodging and food.  This made our extended stay in Pittsburgh tolerable and we greatly appreciate it.
