Obituary

Daniel Howard DeNoon never rushed anything. Not his morning coffee, not a conversation, and certainly not time with his family. Yet somehow, he was never late. In fact, he was always about 30 minutes early. He believed in doing things slowly and doing them well, and he moved through life with steady intention and unwavering faith in the Lord. He loved his family, his church, and teasing just about everyone he met.

If you knew Danny (and who doesn't know Danny?!), you know he had a rare and beautiful gift — he would meet you with a smile and he would always make you feel seen, valued, and loved. Whether family, friend, or stranger, you mattered to him. He welcomed everyone into his home with warmth and humility, reflecting the love of Christ in his everyday life. Many who knew him have shared that he was the kind of man we should all strive to be: faithful and full of grace.

Danny was born on January 23, 1947, to Madeline and Howard DeNoon. He faithfully served his country as a veteran and proudly worked as a coal miner, living a life marked by sacrifice, humility, and perseverance. He loved his country deeply and believed in the responsibility each person has to take part in its future. His kids and grandkids could count on a phone call on election days to remind them to vote, and even on his final evening, he stayed up late to watch the State of the Union. Though he took pride in his work and his service, he would be the first to tell you that his greatest accomplishment was his family.

He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Pamela Pauline DeNoon. They shared 62 years of marriage, growing up together, building a life quietly rooted in love, commitment, and faith in God. They created a legacy that will endure for generations.

He was a proud and loving father to his four daughters: Dannette Tobin and her husband Dale, DeAnna Snyder and her husband John, Cassie Dumire and her husband Zach, and Patricia DeNoon and her partner Will. He was Pap to eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, his buddy Walker Garrison, and many more, each of whom he loved deeply.

Danny loved the Lord and was a faithful member of his church, Sunrise Chapel, founded by his father and where he was a member since childhood. His life reflected Christ not only in belief, but in action to care for others without hesitation. He lived with quiet obedience and steady faith, trusting the Lord in all seasons.

While his family grieves deeply, they rejoice in knowing he is now home with his Savior.  Our hearts ache in his absence, yet we find peace in the promise of eternal life and the assurance that he has heard the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant."

He would want us to take our sadness and turn it into love for others, just as he so faithfully did throughout his life. Danny's life was a testimony. His legacy lives on in the family he raised, the lives he touched, and the countless people who were better for having known him.We are so blessed he was ours.
