Obituary

David Martin Bowyer, 63, of San Diego, passed away on February 18. Born November 10, 1962, in Fairmont, he was the beloved son of Reverend Richard and Faith M. Bowyer of Fairmont.

David was a devoted father, grandfather, son, and brother whose humor and kindness left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him. He is survived by his parents; his brothers, Mark Bowyer of Fairmont and John Bowyer of McMurray, Pennsylvania; his four daughters, Holly Alevito (Sam) of Morgantown, Whitney (fiancé Saadi) of Detroit, Danielle of Evanston, Illinois, and Isabella of Los Angeles; and his cherished granddaughters, Lorilei and Millie of Morgantown, who brought him immense pride and joy.

A 1981 graduate of Fairmont Senior High School, David earned a varsity letter in wrestling. He went on to graduate from West Virginia University and later received his MBA from the University of Phoenix. From a young age, he was active in Scouts, 4-H, and church youth programs, experiences that helped shape his strong sense of community and faith.

David loved music and found joy in playing the acoustic guitar. Whether performing at local clubs and churches or simply playing to unwind, music was one of the ways he connected with others and expressed himself. He also enjoyed traveling and was grateful to have visited several countries over the years.

Professionally, David held executive-level roles in healthcare, including time with United Health. Later in life, he embraced new chapters, working in home and commercial repair and even driving for Uber, always willing to try something new and meet new people along the way.

Above all, David will be remembered for his loving heart, his quick sense of humor, and his deep love for his family. His presence will be profoundly missed.

A funeral service will be held at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Ave. Fairmont, WV, on Saturday, March 21, with his father, Reverend Richard Bowyer, presiding.
