David Russell Craig, 76, of Grant Town, passed away Wednesday, August 20th at his home. He was born in Waynesburg, PA on July 21st, 1949. Son of the late Clara Lee Crouse and Paul Craig and stepfather Eli F. "Joe" Kerr.
David served in the U.S. Army from Oct. 25,1968 to June 27, 1972. He was with the 199th Lt. Infantry Brigade in Vietnam 1969-1970 and was discharged as staff sergeant.
He is survived by his sister, Sheila Swisher and her husband Gary "Bucko," his brother Chuck Craig and his wife Vicky; stepdaughter, Amber Lovett, and her children, Libby and Elijah with step grandson baby Oliver arriving in September; and a step son, Jaime; nephews, Jerry Lee Swisher, Russell Craig and his Kristen, Brian Craig and wife Tiffany; niece, Lisa Mick and husband Kevin; step sisters, Paula Sue and Melissa; great nephews, Hunner, Cameron, Rylan, and Eli Craig, and Levi Swisher; great nieces, Kayla and Jenni Swisher and Hailey Williamson, Nevaeh Swisher, Mikayla and Allie Elswick, Beth Glasscock, and A'riyah Ayers; his first wife, Christine Lowe Craig of Germany; special friend and caregiver, Marsha Styles.
Including his parents, he was preceded in death by his second wife, Susie Craig; a brother Terry Wrubleski; nephew, Gary Eli Swisher; a granddaughter, Stella Mae; maternal grandparents, Clarinda Cox and Walter Crouse.
The family will receive friends at the Domico Funeral Home – Curry Chapel, 100 Grant Street in Fairview on Monday, August 25th. from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. The funeral will be at the funeral home with Pastor Bill Rager officiating on Tuesday, August 26th at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at West Virginia National Cemetery with full military rites.
