David Dean passed away peacefully at home on August 27, 2026. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Opal Dean; grandmother, Sally Estlack; and son, Christopher Dean.

David is survived by his wife of 41 years, Glenda Dean; his brother, Clyde “Butch” Dean; his sister, Rose Bass; children, Sharon Bowman and husband Robert Bowman, David Dean and his wife Alesha, Dan Cunningham and wife Kacie, and James Dean and partner Kelsie Sauro; grandchildren, Johnnie Bowman, David Bowman, Patricia Bowman, Mark Bowman and wife Kayla, Crystal Bowman and fiancée Devon; Iliana Dean, Daniel Cunningham and partner Lauren Roupe, Jaidyn Cunningham, and Grayson Cunningham; great grandchildren, Gracelynn Hope Cunningham, Aiden Bowman, Ruby Bowman, Rhylan Wheeler, and Karmana Wheeler.

Dave spent most of his career strip mining operating an in loader at LP Mineral.

He enjoyed cutting firewood, working, riding his lawn mower, reading westerns on the back porch, and spending precious time with his grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Avenue in Fairmont, on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Thursday, September 3, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. The service will be on Thursday at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Dan Cunningham officiating.
