Obituary

Pastor Delas Adam Stuzen, age 66, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 29, 2021, surrounded by his family. He was born September 25, 1954 in Barberton, OH, the son of the late Robert Lee and Phyllis Jean (Helmick) Stuzen.

Delas graduated from Fairview High School in 1972 and attended Potomac and Fairmont State Univeristies. He loved sports and hunting, but his true passion was fishing. His favorite place to connect with the Lord was fishing in a West Virginia mountain stream. He retired from UMWA Career Center, Inc. in December 2018 after years of service underground in numerous coal mines and frequently referred to himself as "just a coal miner called by God to preach the Word."

Delas ministered at Noah's Ark Assembly of God in various ministries and recently served as senior pastor at Noah's Ark Assembly of God until his passing. He loved his church family compassionately and always felt it a privilege and a joy to pastor God's people and share the Word. His love and passion for Christ reached far beyond the church. He was a great friend and mentor that leaves behind a wonderful legacy.

Delas and Susie have been together as a couple for 54 years and married for nearly 47 years. He is a father, pap, brother, and uncle. Delas is survived by his wife and best friend, Susan Tennant Stuzen of Fairview. He is the father of three children, Alison Hall and husband, Stephen Hall, of Fairview, WV; Adam Stuzen of Rivesville, WV; and Emily Stuzen and fiancé, Zach Weeks, of Spartansburg, SC. One of his greatest joys in life was being "Pap" to his three grandchildren, Evan, Kylan, and Kason Hall.

Delas is also survived by a sister and spouse, Patricia and Terry Haught of Fairview, WV; and an uncle and spouse, Gary and Yvonne Helmick of Gig Harbor, WA. He is survived by several nieces and nephews and many cousins.

The family will receive friends at Noah's Ark Assembly of God in Fairview on Monday, May 3, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral will be Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at the church at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Haught Cemetery in Fairview. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Noah's Ark Assembly of God Church or the American Cancer Society. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.domicofh.com.
