Dolores Mainella Craft, 86, of Fairmont, West Virginia, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family at home.
Dee was born June 20, 1937, in Fairmont, West Virginia, daughter of the late Anthony and Julia Zukosky Mainella. She was married 63 years to her loving husband Lloyd E. "Ted" Craft. Dee attended Miller School and Fairmont Senior High School. She was a graduate of Fairmont State College in 1959, where she was a member of the Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority. Dee taught grade school in Alexandria, Virginia and then returned to Fairmont to teach for several more years.
She spent many years of her married life working alongside her husband's family business, Sixth Street Pharmacy. Dee's creative talents and attention to detail were favored by many customers who frequented her Fife & Drum gift shop.
Dee was a talented individual, with a skilled eye for interior decorating, an avid gardener and landscape architect, creative cook, artist, and overall wonderful friend and mentor to all that knew her. She cherished her dear friends from all generations. Her Italian and Lithuanian heritage was evident in sharing strong family traditions.
Dee is survived by her husband, Lloyd E. "Ted" Craft, her three children, Lloyd E. "Tod" Craft of Manhattan, New York, Christopher H. Craft of Dunwoody, Georgia, and daughter Julia C. Templeton and husband, Rand H. Templeton of Fort Worth, Texas, her brother John A. Mainella and wife, Carol W. Mainella of Fairmont, 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Her family was the center of her life, her beloved husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren filled her days with joy.
The family will welcome family and friends at Saint Peter the Fisherman Church on Monday, December 18, 2023, from 9:30-11am where she will lie in state. A Catholic Funeral Liturgy will begin at 11a.m. with Father Joseph Konikattil as Celebrant. Immediately following the mass, burial will be at Mount Carmel cemetery followed by a luncheon at the church. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.domicofh.com.
