Donald R. Headley was welcomed into the arms of his Lord and Savior on August 21, 2021 after a long battle with heart problems. He was the son of the late Lester and Mary (Parker) Headley, born on April 5, 1935 on Jake's Run in Fairview.
Donald is survived by his wife of 54 years, Glendora (Taylor) Headley; his siblings, Naomi Perry of Westover, Jim (Ann) of Morgantown, Richard of Cleveland, OH, Ollie May Gorman of Fairmont and Jennie (Robert) Janes of Fairmont; and many nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and two brothers-in-law, Henry Gorman and Jack Perry.
Don was a member of Pumpkin Center Church of Christ, 55 year member of Mannington AF & AM #31, past supervisor of Marion County Conservation District, Marion County Farm Bureau, Wes Mon-Ty Cattlemen Association, 45 year member of Boilmaker #667, Clarksburg Court #3 Order of Amaranth, Monongalia #10 IOOF. He received the following awards, Carol Green Award, Mary Sturm Award, District Farm Award.
He was a graduate of Clay-Battelle High School in 1954. He was active in FFA, received the Star Farmer Award. His farm was his pride. He was always working to make it better. He was a very giving person., always helping where needed. The intersection at Bassnettsville was dedicated for each season for all to enjoy by Don.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Mon General Foundation Heart & Vascular, ATTN: Luella Gunter, 1200 JD Anderson Drive, Morgantown, WV 26505.
The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home – Curry Chapel, 100 Grant Street, Fairview, WV, on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral will be on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Rose Saunders officiating. Interment will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens. The family is requesting that masks be worn during all services. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.domicofh.com.
