Donna Copen, 67, of Fairmont, left this earth on Saturday, August 9, 2025, surrounded by her loving family following a brief illness at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital. Donna was born on April 19, 1958 to the late Richard and Janet Green of Grant Town.

Donna was loved by all and would give you the shirt off her back if she was able. She worked from home a good bit of her life as a private home daycare provider and her latest career was with Family Services of Marion and Harrison Counties as a Direct Care Worker. Donna had a great love and huge heart for children and through her many years of child care and her children and grandchildren growing up, she accepted many children as her own. She spent most of her days with her grandchildren and great grandchildren just living in the moment. She loved to take trips with her family, spoil her babies, and just set outside and take in the breeze while chatting it up with friends and family.

Donna is survived by her children, Danyelle Closson and husband John of Fairmont, Richard Runion Jr.and wife Brandy of Rivesville, and Sherry Westfall of Myrtle Beach, SC; grandchildren, Hailey VanAllen (Shayla McCoy) and Tayler VanAllen (Tyler Hibbs) of Fairmont, Richard Runion III and Morgan Runion of Rivesville, Cheyenne and Anthony Masturzo of Fairmont, Colby and Lindsay Sawitski of Fairmont, and Cierra Shipley of Fairmont; great grandchildren, Cooper Blosser, Oaklynn Hibbs, Em'Marie Sawitski, Tobias Sawitski, Carsen Shipley, Braelyn Masturzo, and Olivia Masturzo; brother, Richard Green of Fairmont; ex-husband, Richard Runion, Sr.; as well as many close family members, including her loving uncle, James Ammons. Last, but not least, her kitties that she adored, Callie and Sugar, and many many fur grandbabies.

In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by both her maternal and paternal grandparents; ex-husband, James "Pork" Copen of Fairmont; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

There has been a Go Fund Me account set up in her honor to assist with the unexpected costs the family will endure at this time.
