Doreen Marie Kerns, 60, of Fairmont, gained her angel wings on Friday, December 1, 2023. Doreen was born in Fairmont on January 16, 1963, a daughter of the late John and Evelina Vessecchia.

Doreen is survived by her husband of 41 years, Wayne Kerns; her children Michael and wife Laura Kerns, Daniel Kerns and partner Valarie Butler; brothers Johnlee and wife Vicky Vessecchia, and Ronnie Vessecchia; Brother-in-law Ron and wife Linda Kerns; granddaughters Emma and Hailey Kerns; nieces Regina and husband David Sanford, and Kristy Vessecchia; nephews Ian Vessecchia, Tony and wife Krista Lewis, Ron Kerns, Jr., Robbie and wife Missy Kerns; mother-in-law Pauline Kerns and several cousins.

Doreen was preceded in death by her parents John and Evelina Vessechia; father-in-law Wayne L. Kerns; and her sister-in-law Lee Ann Vessecchia.

Doreen worked at MVB Bank for 22 years and prior to that at The Village Pantry. In her free time, she enjoyed tending to her flower garden, swimming, and most of all spending time with her family. Her family was everything to her; she was a loving wife, mother, and mammie.

The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Avenue in Fairmont, on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at Domico Funeral Home beginning at 12:00 p.m. with Bishop Chris Gillespie, Jr. officiating.
