Elaine Viola Hieber, 91, of Fairmont, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2020. She was born July 4, 1929 in Sligo, PA, a daughter of the late Heber Rankin and Ada Spindler Rankin.

Elaine was the loving wife of Ralph Hieber for over 60 years. She was devoted to her family as the family matriarch. She was a seamstress and avid reader. She enjoyed sports and the Gaither Vocal Band. Elaine attended the Covenant Church in Fairmont.

Elaine is survived by her children, Lynn Hieber and his wife Susie of Swanton, OH and Sandi Huey and her husband Mike of Fairmont; her grandchildren, Lisa (Brendan) Gallagher, Kelly (Chêne) Mulaire, Bryan (Anita) Hieber, Andrea Hieber, David (Megan) Hieber, and Becca (Brock) Hays; 19 great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Agnes Rankin.

In addition to her parents, Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Leonard Hieber; a brother, Roy Rankin; and sisters, Grace Austin and Margaret Lamond.

The family would like to give special thanks for Elaine's caregiver, Melissa Peele, who cared for her with great love.

The family will receive friends at Covenant Church in Fairmont on Saturday, August 1, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow at the church on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Josh Morgan officiating. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.domicofh.com.
