Elliot Elisha Benebo Sokari, 38, of Fairmont, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2024. He was born in Morgantown, WV on February 27, 1986, son of Ibiyekaribo (IB) Benebo Sokari and Joann Copney Sokari.

Elliot graduated from Fairmont Senior High School in 2004 and studied at Fairmont State University before pursuing his ambition in nursing. He studied at and graduated from Fred W. Eberle School of Practical Nursing in Buckhannon, WV in 2016. Elliot was, until his death, an LPN at John Manchin Nursing Home in Fairmont, WV. He enjoyed raising his children, spending time with them, and watching their sporting events and activities. He was a devoted, doting, and loving father.

Elliot is survived by children, Jamila Josephine Sokari, Elon Joseph Sokari, Maoni Sokari; mother, Joann Copney Sokari and Huey Glass; father, Ibiyekaribo (IB) Benebo Sokari and his wife Marie Sokari; sister, Ibieriye George of Atlanta, GA, companion Aisha Ford and family; aunt, Joyce Copney Harris of Fairmont, WV, aunts Beneboba Sokari-George of the United Kingdom and Bibialaba Benebo Sokari of Nigeria and uncles Partner Benebo Sokari and Reginald B. Sokari both of Nigeria, and Carl Harris, Sr. of Fairmont, WV; great aunt, Nancy J. Copney of Fairmont, WV and great uncle Charles Copney of Fairmont, WV; nephews Jonathan Joshua George and Jordan Jeremiah George both of Atlanta, GA, step brothers Sheku Bomah and Philip Glenn, step sisters Ajara Bomah, Jammie Glenn, and Attorney Aminata Kamara all of Worcester, MA, and a host of family and friends who loved him.

The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Avenue in Fairmont, on Saturday, December 28, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The funeral will be at the funeral home on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
