Esther Mae Spragg, 92, passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2019. She was born in Worthington on June 6, 1926, daughter of the late Joseph Steele and Pearl Jackson Steele.

Esther was a faithful member of the Monongah Baptist Church and was very devoted to her Lord. She was a willing supporter of mission work and the church's Children's Ministries. She enjoyed cooking, baking, traveling with her husband around the United States and abroad, and visiting with family and friends.

Esther is survived by her nephews, Larry Varney of Wothington and John Dunn of Minnesota; a niece, Beverly Chickerell and her husband Ronald of Fairmont and a great niece, Joann Malburger of Ohio and Jane Morgan of Camp Hill; a sister-in-law, Bernice Detwiler; several other nieces and nephews; a special family member, Lisa Powers, and friend, Jamie Moore.

In addition to her parents, Esther was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald G. Spragg, who passed on December 24, 2010; siblings, Joann Dunn and Charles Steele; and her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

The family would like to give special thanks to Betty Feltz for her meals and Esther's caretakers – Casey, Karen, Shakia, and Heather – along with Amedisys for their loving care.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Monongah Baptist Church, 256 Lyndon Avenue Fairmont, WV 26554.

The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Avenue in Fairmont, on Monday, January 21, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor David Huckins officiating.
