Obituary

Fay Lambert "PaPa" Ezelle went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 19th, 2025. He was born on November 23rd, 1953, in Fairmont, WV, to the late William and Nadine Ezelle.

Lambert, who was a hard worker since a young boy, worked at Evergreen Cemetery alongside his grandfather, John Williams, and then alongside his father, William Ezelle. He also was employed at the Fairmont Times as a paperboy. Lambert then went on to work as a coal miner at Robinson Run Coal Mine (Murray Energy) retiring after forty-nine years and ten months of faithful service. He retired in June of 2022. While serving as a coal miner, he took the reins of Evergreen Cemetery with his son Lambert "Lil Lambert" Horton after his father passed. Additionally, Lambert was a co-owner of the Misty Blue Lounge with partner, the late James Terry, and served as Vice President of the Mountain State Lodge #117.

Lambert enjoyed riding motorcycles as a young adult. He graduated from Fairmont Senior High School in 1971. Lambert was a track star on the Fairmont Senior High School Track Team. He loved to wind down by lighting incense, listening to jazz music, and drinking Hennessy. He enjoyed watching Sanford and Sons and westerns, watching church services, and reading his Bible. His favorite pastime of all was spending time with his grandchildren. PaPa Ezelle never missed a game, recital, graduation, or any other activity. He was his grandchildren's number one fan— there wasn't anything he wouldn't do for them. Lambert was a self-proclaimed comedian who enjoyed telling jokes and making side comments. He was also a lifetime member of Trinity Methodist Church where he was saved and baptized. In recent years, he was a faithful attendee of Agape Life Ministries.
