Freddie "Bull" DeChristopher, 84, of Fairmont, WV passed away Sunday, August 22, 2021, at Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born October 29, 1936, in Freselone, Italy, the son of the late John DeChristopher and Domenica "Maggie" Mezzanotte DeChristopher who brought him to the United States when his was 23 months old.
A graduate of Fairmont Senior High, Freddie proudly served in the US Army stationed in Germany from 1954 to 1956. Known as both a hard worker and an honest man, he spent his life building a reputation that earned him the respect and admiration of all who knew him. He loved his friends, his family, and most of all his wife Barbara Buretz DeChristopher who survives him.
Also surviving are his brother, Patsy DeChristopher; nieces and nephews John DeChristopher and fiancée Connie Brady, PerriJo DeChristopher and husband Chuck Porter, and Lynette DeChristopher and wife Tracie DeFreitas; brother-in-law David Buretz; nephew Jedediah Buretz; his aunt Edith Mezzanotte; his Godson JoeJoe Feltz; and numerous first and second cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters-in-law Joan DeChristopher and Terry Corbin Buretz.
A special recognition goes to his good friends Dave, Wayne, PeenJoe, Darryl, Tom, and Johnny; and his caregivers Megan, Wendy, Elisa, Deb, Dottie, Monique, Stacy, and Mary.
The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Avenue, Fairmont, WV, on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. The funeral service will be on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. with Deacon David Lester officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.domicofh.com.
