George Shaver, 83, of Fairmont, passed away on September 7, 2024 in Ruby Memorial Hospital.

George was born in Fairmont, WV to Howard and Opal Shaver on October 23, 1940. He went to school at East Fairmont High. He has been married to Camille (Jeanie) Perry of Fairmont for 66 years.

He worked as a coal miner for several years then for The County Commissioner Office of Marion County until retirement. He served in the Army Reserves for 3 years. He loved spending time with family and friends. He also had a passion for gardening.

George was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Opal, and a brother, Wendell (Butch).

George is survived by his wife, Camille (Jeanie); daughter, Tina Alltop (Jim); son, Wayne; and son Archie (Nilesha); sister, Divinnia Wilhite (Frank); sister, Barbara Fortin (Rich); brother, Jimmy Shaver (Susan); half brother, Tim Shaver; half sister, Yolonda Coldiron; step sister, Terry Hartley; and step sister-in-law, Sandy Hargarger (Bill); grandchildren, Heather Luzadder, Jeanie Loughery (Travis), Jordan Shaver, Jalyn Kerby (Seth), Jacie Anglin (Andrew), Jayme Shaver; and great grandchildren, Clay Gifford, Cayden (CJ) Gifford, and Ila Anglin.
