Obituary

Gerald "Jerry" Lynn Kelly ll,29, of Fairmont,WV, died unexpectedly Saturday, June 29th, 2019. Jerry was born January 9th, 1990 in Jacksonville,NC, son of Gerald Kelly the First of Huntington, and the late Joy Kelly-Woods.

Jerry was employed by the Copper House Restaurant, for 9 years. He was a celebrated football player having played for and an alumni of Fairmont Senior High School in 2008. Jerry played collegiate football at Boston College and Ohio University. He also was an accomplished martial artist, having earned 1st degree Black belt in both KYUMEI RYE JU JUTSU and DEBISU RYE KYUMEI JU JUTSU. Jerry was also the 2018 Clarksburg Tough Man Champion, winning the Heavy Weight division.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his son,Gerald "GK" Kelly lll, and his mother Rachel Carnal, his maternal grandparents Ted and Blanche Jackson, of Fairmont, and paternal grandmother Lavonda Thacker, 2 sisters LaKiesha Hines and Nia Kelly, 1 brother Nico Kelly, uncles Shawn Wiley Sr., Chris Moody, Terrance Kelly,and Thomas Hayes;aunts Alethea Moody-Wise, Kirsten Nida, Tonya Kelly, Sharma Hayes Smith, Nicole Thacker, Stephanie Thacker, and Dannetta Hayes. Jerry also has a nephew, Kieshawn Cottingham and 2 nieces, Israyel and Alaya King, and a host of extended family to cherish his memory.

In addition to his family he is survived by special friends, cousin Desmond Evans, cousin/ Sensei Jason Davis, Jeremiah Goff, Ernest Marshall, L.T. Abbott, Sam Hine, Kenny Welch, Jason DeFrance, and Jason Swann.

Jerry was proceeded in death by his mother, Joy Kelly-Woods, cousin Marion "Boo" Hilson, great aunt Edith Evans, cousin Yolanda Jefferson,great uncle's Brazz Evans ll and Robert Bey.

The family will receive friends at Morning Star Baptist Church at 100 McKinney Street Fairmont, WV 26554. Viewing will take place on July 6th, 2019 from 9:00am-11:00am and service to follow at 11:00am with Pastor Wesley Q. Dobbs and Pastor Paul Mitchell officiating.
