Obituary

Geraldine "Nanny" Curio Hall Passed away with her family at her side, at the age of  95 at Mon General Hospital.  Geraldine Hall was born a Curio Daughter of the Late Samuel F. and Ethel P. Estep Curio of Watson on April 13 th 1925.  She was the last of her siblings to pass

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, George W. Hall, who she was married to for 66 years. Sisters Katherine Curio, Susan Curio Gerkin and her husband Marion, Josephine Curio Edwards and her husband Harley, Virginia Curio Furbee and her husband Jack, Betty J. Curio Hall and her husband  Charles, Wanda Brooks and her husband  Dale E, Brooks, Brothers, Joseph Miller and his Wife Kate, William "Billy" Curio and his wife Nellie, and Gerald Curio, her twin, died as infant, Sammy, and Samuel, Son-in Law Mark Ainsworth. Several close childhood friends from Watson.

Geraldine is survived by one son Gerald W. Hall and His wife Mary Slamick Hall of Fairmont, WV, Daughter Gloria Jean "Jeanne" Hall Ainsworth of Morgantown WV.  Three Grandaughters, Melissa Jo Hall Hillberry and her husband Jamie of Shinnston, Melanie Joy Hall Gregory and her husband Edward "EJ" Gregory of Shinnston, Katie Jean Ainsworth of Morgantown, WV.  Five Great Grand Children, Alyssa J. Hall, Tyler Postle, Seth Hillbery, Gunner Gregory and Wyatt Gregory all of Shinnston.  1 Great Great Grand Son Asher Hall of Shinnston. Former Daughter-in-Law Marilyn R. Carothers of Shinnston.   She had a special love for her step-grandchildern, Mark Ainsworth's daughers, Shannah, Brandy and Lauren Ainsworth.  Sisters in Law Katherine Hall, Barrackville, WV and Carolyn Hall and her husband Harry C.J.  "Billy" Hall of Richwood WV.  Several Nieces and Nephews.

Geraldine worked as a line worker at the Westinghouse Plant for 2 years and then a cook and in the Laundry Department of Fairmont General Hospital during WWII and after until Her marriage to George Hall on Oct 2, 1950.  She went with him to Ft Riley KS, Ft Knox, KY and then back to Fairmont.  She spent the years following as the Best Wife, Mom, Nanny, Aunt and friend to everyone she met.  Everyone who came to her house was treated with an immaculate house and the best home cooked meals you would ever get bar none.

Geraldine always took care of anyone sick or in the hospital that needed help.  She took care of her dad until his death in 1974.  Visited and helped take care of her sisters and their husbands while they were in the hospital.  We would like to thank the special people who helped take care of her.  Her Family friend Vicky Nunez Fluharty, Grand Daughter Melissa J Hillberry, Former Daughter-in-Law Marilyn Carothers, Marianne Husty, Patrice Bullister,Bobbie Boyles, and her Main Care Giver Beverly Boyles.  Special thanks to the nurses and staff in the ICU at the Mon General Medical Center

She loved Baseball and the Pittsburgh Pirates and Atlanta Braves.  Her most vivid memory was when the Pirates won the 1960 World Series in the last inning as Bill Mazeroski hit the game winning home run winning the series. She also loved watching her son play Baseball and her grandaughter Play Softball and Volleyball.  She loved working any kinds of puzzles from words to jigsaw.  Nanny loved to play Video games.  Most of all she loved baking and cooking for whoever would eat it.  She was the undisputed best cook in the world.

The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Avenue in Fairmont, on Sunday, September 20, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow at the funeral home on Sunday at 6:00 p.m. Due to COVID-19 precautions, the family asks that only close family and friends attend the visitation and service and adhere to guidelines regarding face coverings and social distancing.
