Obituary

Glenda Glee Husk Sconish, 87, of Bellview went to be with the Lord and to be reunited with her husband and love of her life, Charles D. "Don" Sconish on Saturday, March 30, 2019. Glenda was affectionately known by family and friends as "Nan." Glenda recently was a brief resident of St. Barbara's Nursing Home in Monongah, WV prior to her passing. Glenda was born the daughter of the late Nella Allen Myers and Harry Husk at Blacksville, WV.

Glenda retired from the Engineering Department of Westinghouse/Phillips Lighting with 40 years of service. Glenda was a proud lifetime member of I.U.E. Local 627. Glenda spoke of her proud union heritage up until her passing. After her retirement, she assisted her husband Don with the scheduling of his many local guitar students.

Nan enjoyed spending time with her family, and especially with her husband of 59 years, Don, who passed away on November 15, 2013 and left a huge void in Nan's life. If anyone ever truly died of a broken heart, Nan did. No couple loved each other more or enjoyed each other's company more than Nan and Pap.  They often traveled to one of the several camps and summer homes they had over the years. Nan and Pap also loved to travel to music festivals throughout the country following her retirement. Nan was an avid sports fan and never missed a Steelers, Pirates, or Penguins game.

Nan is survived by her son, J.C. "Chuck" Sconish and his fiancée Lisa Carpenter Laya of the Bunners Ridge Community. Nan and Pap were the proud grandparents of and instrumental in the raising of Chuck's three children, Twyla Dawn, Samantha Sue, and Patrick Wade, who she loved dearly. Her eldest granddaughter, Twyla Dawn Bergenstal and her husband, Dr. John Bergenstal reside in Medina, MN. Her youngest granddaughter, Samantha Sconish Thomason, is married to Staff Sergeant Anthony D. Thomason, USMC and reside aboard Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, CA. Ryker Sconish Thomason is the single great grandchild, son of Anthony and Samantha. Her grandson, Patrick Wade Sconish, resides in Fairmont, WV. Patrick was a constant companion on Nan and Pap's trips to camp and were responsible for Patrick's love of the outdoors. Nan also has two step grandchildren, but you would never hear her describe them as such, they were her grandchildren, Cole and Jacob Laya, both sons of Chuck's fiancée, Lisa. Nan is further survived by her brother, Gary T. Six of Lecanto. FL and who had recently been staying in Fairmont to help take care of his sister.

Nan also had a group of nieces that she loved as daughters. Jackie (Rev. Duane) Stiles of Fairmont, Jackie (Rick) Headlee of Waynesburg, PA, Marlene (Roger) Seaman of Fairview, and Carolyn (Harold) Kiger of Blacksville. Each held a special place in her heart and each for a special reason. Helen Wilmouth of Pleasant Valley was her best friend and confidant. Helen has always been supportive and kind, especially since Don's passing. Several nephews, nieces, and cousins also survive.

Nan was preceded in death by her husband, Charles D. "Don" Sconish. A son, Kevin Sconish died in infancy. She was also preceded in death by an older sister, Bernice Husk Tennant of Blacksville and a younger sister, Patty Myers Eddy of Waynesburg.
