Obituary

Gregory Allen Parrish "Pops", 66, passed away Friday, December 29th unexpectedly in Portsmouth VA. He was born September 27th, 1957 in Fairview, WV.  The son of the late Wayne and Lucille (Carpenter) Parrish.

In loving memory of Greg, a remarkable father, grandfather, brother, and cherished member of our family and community. Greg's untimely departure has left a void that words cannot adequately fill. His impact on the lives of those he touched was immeasurable and his memory will forever be etched in our hearts.

Greg was an extraordinary soul, possessing a warmth and kindness that endeared him to everyone he met. He had a remarkable ability to connect with people, effortlessly brightening their day with his infectious smile and genuine compassion. Greg approached life with an open heart and his love knew no bounds.

A true outdoorsman at heart, Greg found solace and joy in the simplicity of nature. As an avid fisherman and hunter, he appreciated the serenity of the water and the thrill of the hunt. His love for the great outdoors was contagious, inspiring those around him to embrace the beauty of the world.

Greg's talents extended beyond the serene landscapes he frequented. A master of AC & DC motors and a skilled handyman, there was nothing he couldn't fix. His hands were gifted with the ability to mend and create, leaving a lasting legacy of craftsmanship.

His compassionate nature shown through not only in his technical prowess but also in his roles as a coach, listener, and philosopher. Greg had an innate ability to guide and inspire, offering wisdom and understanding to those seeking comfort or advice. Whether on the sidelines of a game, lending a sympathetic ear, or sharing insightful words, he touched the lives of many with his unwavering support.

In honoring Greg's memory, let us remember the laughter he shared, the lessons he imparted, and the love he freely gave. Though he left us too soon, the impact of his beautiful spirit will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Greg is survived by, daughter Celia Rossi and her husband Justin of Fleming Island, FL; son Wesley Parrish of Louisville, KY; five grandchildren Angelaya "Snickelfritz" & Gabriella "Boudreaux" Rossi of Fleming Island, FL; Kayleigh, Anthony "AJ", and Hadley Parrish of Louisville, KY; one brother, David Parrish and his wife Beth Ann of Pinedale, Wyoming; three sisters, Loretta Tennant and husband Cliff of Fairview, WV, Wanda Monell and husband John of Louisville, KY, and Donna Hlusko of Fairview; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister JoAnn Dodd, and brother-in-laws Keith Dodd Sr.; and Jay Hlusko.

Greg was employed as Shop Manager at Best Repair Co. in Norfolk VA. He was formerly the owner/operator of Marion Electric Coil in Fairmont, WV and Parrish Auto Glass in Louisville KY "with his son Wes" as well as held many certificates in health and personal training.

The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, Curry Chapel 100 Grant St. in Fairview, WV Tuesday, January 9th from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. for viewing. The funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Tim Shuttlesworth officiating.
