Helen Loraine Cummings, 98, formerly of Grant Town, WV and resident of St. Barbara's Nursing Home in Monongah since June 2021 went to be with the Lord on February 1, 2025.

Helen was born in Fairview, WV, on December 3, 1926, daughter of the late Lloyd Arnold and Dessie Blanch (Tennant) Parrish.  Helen's loving husband, William M. Cummings predeceased her in October of 1995, and her loving sister and best friend June Clevenger (Fred) predeceased her.

Helen was a member, since 1955, of Ballah Chapel Church in Grant Town.  She loved the Lord, her church family and raised her children in a Christian home.  She worked at Westinghouse for a brief time after graduating from Fairview High School class of 1945.  She also was employed by Eastern Associated Coal where she was a clerk at the Grant Town Company Store in the 1960's.  Helen was a home maker.  Caring for her family was her priority always hosting holiday festivities.  Helen enjoyed quilting and bestowed quilts to her family members.

Helen is survived by her loving son and daughter, Brenda Kaye Tuttle (Bill) of Fairview and David Russell Cummings (Carolyn) of Fairmont, two sisters; Melinda Vingino (Jim) of Idamay and Sherry Wilson (Mike) of Fairview and one brother, Jim Parrish (Sarah) of Fairview.  She leaves behind her loving three grandchildren and six great grandchildren.  Seth Tuttle (Kara Jenkins) of Bridgeport and their children Nora and William.  Teauna (Tuttle) Villinger (Patrick) of Colfax and their children Rose and Ivy.  Christian Cummings (Jade Bombard) of Fairmont and their children Dawson and Cooper.

Also surviving Helen are several nieces and nephews including Bill Clevenger (Jen) of Fairmont and Dick Clevenger (Kathy) of Camden.  Jim Salina (Mary) of Grant Town, Sharon Mazure of Grant Town and a sister-in-law Nancy Riley of New London, Wisconsin.

Helen's family has requested in lieu of flowers to please make contributions to Ballah Chapel Church, PO Box 465, Grant Town, WV 26574

Friends may call at Domico Curry Funeral Home in Fairview, WV from 10 a.m. until noon on Wednesday, February 5, 2025.   Services will be held at noon with Sam Massey officiating.  Interment will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens, Morgantown, WV.
