Jackie James Hibbs Hess, 84, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2020. He was born in Mannington on September 10, 1935, a son of the late Charles Hess and Olive Fluharty Hess.

Jackie was a retired veteran of the United States Army, serving in both the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He worked for William Shaft Company, was self-employed as a truck driver, and worked for 10 years as a bus driver for Marion County. He was a member of the VFW Post 629, the Eagles Club, and the New Life Worship Center in Norway. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed going to auctions. He was proud of his grandchildren and his Volkswagen.

Jackie is survived by his children, Becky Lawson and her husband Dale of Morgantown and Junior Hess and his wife Barb of Kansas; grandchildren, Michael Bartolf and his wife D'Marie, Matthew Bartolf and his wife Cassandra, Daniel Bartolf and his wife Lindsey, Jack Hess, Maryann Hess, Alivia Lawson, and Nicholas Lawson; great grandchildren, Adaline Bartolf, Thomas Bartolf, Khalan Bartolf, Jason Hess, and Charlotte Hess; a brother, Charles Richardson; a sister, Freda Cox; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Jackie was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Hess, and sisters, Louise Romeo, Marsha Morlock, and Fannie Richardson.

The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Avenue in Fairmont, on Friday, January 31, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, February 1, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. The funeral service will be on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Tim Ray officiating.
