Obituary

James Allen "Jim" Fulton, 81, of Fairmont, WV received his wings and final orders to march on to our Heavenly Father on Monday, May 27, 2024. He was born September 20, 1942, in Whiteley Township, Greene County, PA, a son of the late Earl W. and Helen M. Fulton.

He leaves behind his cherished wife of 53 years, Carolyn Jean Fulton. His two adored daughters, Jaime Leigh Fulton and her fiancé James Padgett of Brandywine, MD, Julie Lynn Klenk and her husband Bob of Bridgeport, WV. Surviving are two grandsons, Zach (Maria) Seamon and their two children, Gianna and Vincent of Morgantown, WV, Josh (Jessica) Simoni of Clarksburg, WV; a brother, Bob Fulton of Parrottville, TN; sister and brothers-in-law, Sue and Jim Copeland, Chip (Allen) and Sue McCardle, Debbie and Porter Stiles, all of Fairmont, WV. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Delbert and Ruby McCardle, who he loved dearly.

He was a 1960 graduate of Mt. Morris High School in Mt. Morris, PA. He started his career status with first attending basic training for the Army in 1963. That was followed by accepting a position at West Virginia University as mail carrier for the entire campus. In 1970, he started employment with the AMOS Army Organization Shop in Clarksburg, WV. In 1992, he transferred to Fort Meade, MD, to Army Logistics as a civilian status in the Department of Defense. In 1993, he retired from both the Reserves and Department of Defense.

A man of many interests, which included sitting on his porch swing with his wife, enjoying all the surrounding wildlife, with birds and squirrels being his favorite, cooking, playing golf, and purchasing cars and trucks to restore and later show at car shows. He owned two show cars which was his pride and joy. He liked visiting the Shinnston Moose for dinners and VFW for a beer.

As per his request, he will be cremated and asked for a private memorial, which will be at 8:00 a.m. at Domico Funeral Home on Friday, May 31, 2024. His final resting place will be at the West Virginia National Cemetery in Grafton, WV. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.domicofh.com.
