James Micheal
Holloway
Mar 27, 1954 — Jan 24, 2021
James Micheal Holloway, affectionately known as "Mike" and/or "Woody," 66 years of age, of Pleasant Valley, WV departed this earthly life in the hours of Sunday, January 24, 2021. He followed closely behind his mother, Ruth G. Hutchinson, who was laid to rest just two months prior.
Living a simplistic life, Mike loved his family, his friends, playing Bid Whist, watching football, and most of all, he loved his beloved dog, Champ. He attended Miller Elementary School, graduated from Fairmont Senior High School, and took a few courses at Fairmont State College. He was employed with Owens Illinois, Consolidation Coal Company, and Browns Sanitation Services.
Mike spent four years in the U.S. Army, completing basic combat training at Fort Sill, OK, and obtained Power Generation Equipment Specialist Certification at Fort Belvoir, VA. He sustained a service-connected disability prior to his June 1990 honorable discharge. He was not a "church-goer," but believed in God, prayed, was thankful, and understood how abundantly blessed his life was, and in his later years, began studying the Jehovah Witness Faith.
In addition to his mother, Mike was preceded in death by his grandparents, Norman and Alma Holloway; step father, Rufus Hutchinson; biological father, Wesley Willis. He leaved to cherish his memory his sister, Arnette Loggins and brother, Joseph N. Hutchinson, both of Fairmont, and a brother, Waverly J. Willis of Cleveland, OH; and aunt, Mary Coleman of Fairmont, WV; four daughters, Jameikka Michale Holloway of Atlanta, GA, Michael La'Trice Holloway of Morgantown, WV, Jowuana Littleton, and Na'a'Alaniechea Holloway of Fairmont, WV; three sons, Jamal C. Smith, Michael J. Littleton, and James Holloway, Jr., all of Fairmont, WV; a trusted friend, J.C. McCullough of Fairmont, WV, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
James chose cremation as his method of disposition. His remains will be laid to rest at the West Virginia National Cemetery in Grafton, WV. Domico Funeral Home, Inc. will oversee services. Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.domicofh.com.
