It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our father James R Moore, who went to his Heavenly home on July 7 at the age of 82.
Born on February 20, 1944 in Fairview WV, Jim lived a life defined by love, hard work, kindness, and dedication to family. Throughout his life, he was known for his honesty, integrity and quiet strength.
He spent over 40 years working as a mechanic in the coal mines, where he was respected for his dedicated work ethic and skills. Outside of work, he found joy in the outdoors, fishing, hunting, gardening, woodworking and teaching his grandchildren life lessons.
Those who knew him will remember him for his patriotic spirit, ability to fix or build anything, willingness to always help others, pet loving heart and his sense of loyalty to all those he loved.
Above all, Jim also known as Pap or Shep, cherished his entire family. He is survived by his children, Denise Moore Chiartas (Gregory), James R Moore II, step children Ben Sine (Patty) and Melissa Kerens (Richard), grandchildren Tyler Chiartas, Elliott Chiartas (Kelly), Joshua Moore, Kayla Satterfield, Carter Kerens and Allison Sine, brothers Bob Moore (Ann) and Ed Moore(Kay) and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Lenora (Lough) Moore, siblings Karen Opron and Bill Moore, and wife Connie Pearl Moore.
His legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched with his love, wisdom, and compassion. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Avenue in Fairmont on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. to proceed to a grave side service at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens that will begin at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his name to WV Caring Hospice Center Elkins, PO Box 760, Arthurdale, WV 26520, phone 304-864-0884, or that those wishing to honor his memory do so through acts of compassion and kindness in his name. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.domicofh.com.
