James Edward "Moose" Huey, 79, of Barrackville, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2025. He was born November 14, 1945 in Clarksburg, a son of the late Cledith P. Gowers and Eva M. Huey.

James retired from the United States Navy and was employed by the Bridgeport Cemetery. He attended Noah's Ark Assembly of God and enjoyed fishing and hunting.

James is survived by his wife, Elaine Huey; children, James R. Carson of Barrackville, Norman L. Carson of Greenwood, Kelly Clark and her husband Roy of Fairmont, and Andrew Poling of Fairmont; nephew, Joe Poling; and brothers, David Gower of Martinsburg, and Paul Gower and his wife Debbie of Beverly.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his children, Debbie Huey and Sherry Huey.
