James Joseph Neri, 80, of Fairmont, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2024. He was born in Fairmont on June 22, 1944, a son of the late Peter A. Neri and Virginia Tropea Neri.

James was a self-employed contractor. He graduated from East Fairmont High School and Fairmont State College with a degree in education. He attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

James is survived by his wife, Patricia LaValla; nephews, Dr. Anthony James Neri of Atlanta, GA and Patrick Anthony Neri of Seattle, WA; a great nephew, Oliver Neri; a great niece, Willa Neri; and several cousins.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his brother, Peter Neri III.
