James Franklin Toothman, 77, of Fairview, passed away Monday, July 7, 2025. He was born on September 14, 1947 in Greenville, NC, a son of the late Frank Toothman and Elizabeth Forbes Toothman.

James was a veteran of the United States Army and was employed by the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center. He was a member of the Fairview Church of Christ and a graduate of Fairview High School where he played sports. James never met a stranger and he was a member of the Library Committee. He was an avid WVU and Steeler fan and enjoyed Steven King books.

James is survived by his wife, Deborah Toothman; children, Shannon Repine and her husband Jason of Bruceton Mills, and John Toothman and his wife Nicole of Fairmont; granddaughter, Addison Grace Repine of Bruceton Mills; brothers, Kyle Toothman and his wife Phyllis of North Carolina, and Joe Toothman and his wife Paula of Virginia; sister, Jane Hardee and her husband Steve of North Carolina; two sisters-in-law, Roxanna Rinehart of Fairmont, and Terri Price of Fairmont; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Donley and Betty Jean Rinehart of Fairview; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Frank Price.

The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home – Curry Chapel, 100 Grant Street in Fairview, on Sunday, July 13, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The service will be on Monday, July 14, 2025 at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. with David Roach officiating.
