James "Jim" William Ice, 89, of Fairmont, passed away November 8, 2018. He was born in Fairmont on August 6, 1929, son of the late Pete Ice and Clara Harrington Ice.

James retired as a Master SGT in the United States Air Force after 22 years and retired from American Airlines after 27 years. James enjoyed reading, his tree farm, bicycling, hiking, and the outdoors.

James is survived by his wife, Dorothy Koon Ice; his children, US Air Force Medical Corp Flight Surgeon Col. Steven Ice and his wife Dr. Unchalee Ice; Debbie Archer Hoover of Lewisville, TX, Jeannie Ferguson and her husband Neil of Lewisville, TX, Patty DeRosa and husband Norman of Frostburg, MD, and Christy Ahsanullah and husband Asif of Murphey, TX; grandchildren, Alice, Jonny, Timmy, Emily, Matt, Chris, Carolyn, Claire, Danny, and Adam; great grandchildren, Mikey, Nicholas, Peter, and Mia.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Katie.
