Jeffrey Todd Fluharty, 54, of Monumental, passed away Monday, July 27, 2020 after a long, hard battle with illness. He was born in Fairmont on May 2, 1966, a son of Betty L. Tennant Fluharty and the late Ikie O. Fluharty.
Jeff was a friend to many and a stranger to none. He devoted his life to his mom, wife, daughter, extended family, and many friends. He was a postal worker for the United States Postal Service for 27 years and was most recently a mail carrier in Fairmont. He was a Mason and a member of the Haught Chapel Church in Fairview.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Kathy Lynn Weekly Fluharty; a daughter who he adored, Hannah Grace Fluharty; a sister and very close friend, Kim Sanders and her husband Doug of Wadestown; a brother, Doug Fluharty of Fairview; his in-laws, Junior and Kathy Weekly; brothers-in-law, Jeff Weekly and friend Katie Knott and Brian Weekly and his wife Renee; several special aunts and uncles; a special friend, Becky Wade; many other special friends; and he was "Uncle Jeffy" to his nieces and nephews, Clay Fluharty and wife Katie, Lacey Sanders, Chelsea Fluharty, Caitlin Fluharty, Logan Sanders, Dustin Weekly, Emily Weekly, Kayden Weekly, and Elias Weekly; and great nieces and great nephews, Mia, Lane, Lawson, and Elouise.
In addition to his father, Jeff was preceded in death by his infant sister, Melissa Fluharty.
The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home – Curry Chapel, 100 Grant Street in Fairview, on Thursday, July 30, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral will be Friday, July 31, 2020 at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor David McCauley officiating. Interment will follow at the Weekly Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Marion County Child Advocacy Center, 315 Fairmont Avenue, Fairmont, WV 26554.
