Obituary

Jerry Joseph LeDonne, 76, passed away on March 20, 2025 with his family by his side. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Fairmont, WV and while residing in Bradenton, Florida attended the St. Peter and Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.

He was born in Fairmont General Hospital on February 19, 1949, a son of the late Emilio and Julie Smigle LeDonne. He was also preceded in death by the love of his life and wife of 44 years, Phoebe Robinson LeDonne and his sister, Sandy LeDonne.

Jerry is survived by his brother, Mel LeDonne, sister-in-law, Patty LeDonne of Laurel, MD, sister-in-law, Linda Robinson, his carer, Vivian Tennant and husband Ronnie of Barrackville, Brenda Sams and husband Doug of Ontario, Canada.

Special nieces and their children whom he dearly loved being the best uncle, Christina Gooby and daughter London of Seattle, WA, Monica Koukoulis and daughter Hannah and son Spencer of Bridgeport, WV, Tiffany Attallah and daughters Amira, Safia, and son Zyad of Tampa, FL, Tisha Hoffman and daughter Nadya of Hinesville, GA, Angela Weisinger and son Hudson, Lauren Yett Looper and daughters Juliette and Eva; and lifelong friends, Mike Ross and Greg Amendola of Fairmont, WV. Jerry was also blessed with many cousins and close neighbors while living in Bradenton, FL, whom he cherished.

Jerry was a 1966 graduate of East Fairmont High School where he excelled in football as their quarterback. He attended Fairmont State College and was a successful businessman.

Jerry proudly served his country in the US Armed Forces during the Vietnam War where he received the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Medal with 60 Device and Joint Service Communication Medal.

Jerry's memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends that loved him by remembering his contagious laugh, patience, advice, and generosity.

Per their wishes, Jerry will be cremated and a celebration of life will be held at a later date, reuniting Phoebe and Jerry again as one on the beautiful shores of Anna Maria Island in Florida.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Harmony at White Oaks in Bridgeport, WV and WV Hospice.
