John Matthew Meffe, 57, passed away Monday, September 30, 2024. He was born November 28, 1966 in Fairmont, a son of the late Orlando J. Meffe and Virginia T. Sinisi Meffe.

John was employed by Pruntytown Correctional Facility as a nurse for 25 years. He was a member of the Elks. He enjoyed traveling, fishing in the mountains, dogs, and going to Las Vegas. John was a kind person who was good to everybody. He loved his nephews and spoiled them when they were young. John was loved by many.

John is survived by his sister, Jennifer Meffe Leyh and her husband Tom; nephews, Christian Leyh and Jacob Leyh; and many friends and cousins.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his sister, Tyndara Meffe; maternal grandparents, Mary Sinisi Aloi and James Sinisi and Tony Aloi; and paternal grandparents, Matteo Meffe and Santa Ciamarra Meffe.

The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Avenue in Fairmont, on Thursday, October 3, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with Vigil Rites beginning at 6:30 p.m. The Catholic Funeral Liturgy will be on Friday, October 4, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Monongah with Father Romeo Bacalso as Celebrant.
