John William Murdock passed away on December 2, 2023. He was born in Fairview on September 23, 1949, a son of the late William and Emma Murdock.

John worked for MonPower, and was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and Nascar fan.

John is survived by his wife Claudia Murdock; children Christina (Kenneth) Burnside of Clarksburg and Melissa (Eric) Southern of Fairmont; cousin Bill (Lisa) Broomall of Reynoldsville, PA; grandchildren Shannon, Ryan, Jace, Sadee, Ashlynn, Kinslee, Rylee, and Conner Southern.

He is preceded in death by his parents William and Emma; brothers Carl Murdock and Alberta Schroeder.
